DSVA Takes SGBV Advocacy To Nuru Oniwo Ward In Coker Aguda Lcda, Surulere.

The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency, (DSVA) has taken the SGBV advocacy to the  Nuru Oniwo Ward on the 15th of June, 2023.

The Executive Secretary, of Lagos DSVA, Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi averred that reaching the Communities for collaborative efforts in the fight against all forms of abuses and violence remains crucial and cannot be undermined.

Damilare Adewusi who represented the Executive Secretary informed the participants on the various support services the State Government provided freely for the Lagosians, ranging from medical, legal services, empowerment, psycho-social support, law enforcement, as well as other partner agencies whose services can be accessed free at the Agency.

Also at the program, the Agency, Representative, Adetoun Odumbo, Community Engagement Officer of the DSVA engaged the members of the community on issues bordering on Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV), emphasizing domestic violence and its forms, child neglect, consent, rape, defilement. 

She encouraged the community members of the ward which comprises 5 Local Community Development Associations (CDA) namely, Oduduwa CDA, Elose CDA, Aguda new pako CDA, Alayemi Ogunyonwo CDA, Upper Canal CDA, Coker Aguda 

to unite and expose any perpetrator in their domain and ensure justice is served. 

 Adewusi further stressed the need to call  the official toll-free line- 08000333333 to report any form of abuse occurring in their domain

The CDC Cahairman, Coker Aguda in the person of Alh. Lateef Bodunrin expressed profound gratitude to the Agency and the Lagos State Government for the initiatives and called on the State government to increase awareness in the markets to reduce the continued harassment experienced in the markets, using the Tejuosho market as an example.
