The E-laws of Lagos State is an electronic library of the laws and annotated law of the state. This is the first electronic collection of a state law in the country.

*LAGOS DSVA ACTIVATES “ITS ON US” Campaign in Lagos State University (LASU)* The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency DSVA has taken the “ITS ON US” Campaign to the Lagos State University (LASU) as part of the agency's activities to commemorate the Awareness month themed "ISSUES SURROUNDING SEXUAL AND GENDER BASED VIOLENCE (SGBV) ON CAMPUS"The Executive Secretary, Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency DSVA, Mrs. Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi said the Agency will be collaborating with all tertiary institutions in the State to raise awareness about the prevention and response to school-related sexual and gender-based violence. She mentioned that the Agency is making use of a multi-perspective lens to address the discussion on safeguarding the future generation as well as debunking the social myths and misconceptions that have characterized the prevalence of sexual abuse in tertiary institutions.Vivour-Adeniyi revealed that the Campus Activation programme will solidify the partnership with the institution and thereafter organize capacity-building training for the institution's response team as case managers and also facilitate referrals following standard operating procedures. She called on all to leverage on available channels and report both perceived and actual cases of abuse and sexual assault in the institution and Lagos State by calling the toll-free line 08000-333-333.The Vice Chancellor Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello represented by Prof. Yinka Okubena-Dipeolu welcomed all and expressed her excitement over the partnership with the Agency to forge a common front in tackling the appalling human rights violations. She assured that the institution is doing its best to ensure that it's academic community remains a peaceful and secure environment. 1. The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency received a complaint bordering on an allegation of Sexual Assault by Penetration, Indecent Treatment of a Child and Defilement, allegedly perpetrated by one Dr. F. Olaleye on the 19th of March 2022. This was made via our toll free line. 2. As is customary, the case was immediately referred to the designated Police Station in this instance being Gender Desk department of the Lagos police command. The child had already received medical support and was in the process of receiving psychosocial support. 3. DSVA has requested the police to forward the duplicate case file to the Directorate of Public Prosecutions so that legal advise can be issued. Furthermore, we have also shared with the police, additional information which we believe would assist with the investigation. 4. We use this medium to reiterate the state Government’s zero tolerance for all forms of Sexual and Gender Based Violence, even as we reassure that no case of sexual abuse allegation will be swept under the carpet. 5. *LASG SET TO INTRODUCE COMPULSORY MARITAL EFFECTIVENESS PREPARATORY COUNSELING FOR INTENDING COUPLESThe Lagos State Government has expressed readiness to introduce compulsory Marital Effectiveness Preparatory Counseling for intending couples to ensure they are proactively addressed about Domestic and Sexual Violence in Lagos State. This was disclosed on Monday,8th August,2022, during a one-day engagement program of all State Marriage Registrars, organized by The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) in conjunction with the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Local Government , Mr. Sanyaolu who was ably represented the Director Local Government, Mr. Amodu whilst commending the Agency, expressed the willingness and readiness of the Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs in proactively addressing Domestic violence in Lagos State. In her opening remarks, The Executive Secretary, Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency, Mrs. Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi noted that at least 60% of survivors of domestic violence who had contracted their marriage under the Matrimonial Causes Act, saw the abusive signs of their intending spouse but still proceeded with the Union which has therefore become expedient for marriage registrars to provide professional support to intending couples. Erudite facilitators of the program, Mrs. Tinuke Odukoya, Executive Director, Centre for Women’s Health and Information, Mr. Oladele Emmanuel Temilade, Founder, Institute of Marriage Administrators & Counselors of Nigeria and the Founder of Family Life Engineer, Praise Fowowe, took the participants on emerging issues which includes gender and sex roles, understanding Domestic violence, statutory roles of Marriage registries, family system engineering as well as an introduction into the curriculum of the Lagos State Marital effectiveness preparatory Counselling. A participant of the program, Mr. Deji Sokeye, National president of Local Government Registrars of marriage in Nigeria in his vote of thanks, reassured the State of their commitment in embracing the initiative.
