Lagos DSVA Sensitize Agboyi Community

The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency has implemented effort in kicking SGBV out of Lagos as  the agency sensitized the community members of His Royal Majesty – Olu of Agboyi l in commemoration of his 60th birthday on the 18th of February, 2023.

Gathered to celebrate  His Royal Majesty – Olu of Agboyi Kingdom, the Executive Secretary Mrs Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi who was represented by the Head Community Engagement, Mr. Damilare Adewusi exposed the residents to the forms of violence. He said the core mandate of the Agency was to rid the State of domestic violence and sexual violence.

He stressed the role of the community in ensuring survivors are able to break the culture of silence and ensure perpetrators are held accountable. Indeed, Agboyi Kingdom should not be a hiding place for perpetrators.

He emphasized the need to report directly or as a mandated reporter through the Agency’s toll free line – 08000 333 333  whilst Ms. Adetoun Odumbo, a Community Engagement Officer spoke on the various services that are available to survivors including medical, legal, psychosocial, empowerment and access to justice.

She urged everyone to see themselves as mandated reporters, if they see something, they should say something and ensure cases of Sexual and Gender Based Violence are reported promptly.

Educational materials, flyers and souvenirs which caption our toll free line were distributed.
