DSVA Holds 8th Queens Club Meet And Greet/Mentorship Session With Adetoun Ibilola Popoola – GM Laspark  

In the continued effort to sustain the Queen Club initiative,  the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) has organized its 8th Queen’s Club Meet and Greet Mentorship program, an initiative established by the Agency in June 2023. The continuity of the Queens Club Initiative has led to an increase from an initial 300  to 2500 members across schools in the State.  The Executive Secretary DSVA, TitiLola Vivour-Adeniyi said the Agency will relentlessly partner with trailblazers in their respective sectors and prominent members of the society who are committed to child empowerment and community development to have students who are members of the Queen’s Club to be mentored and impacted by them in their own space. Mrs. Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi in her welcome address, encouraged the girls to get ready to have an impactful session with their Mentor and feel free to ask relevant questions they may have, as this was an ample opportunity to tap into life nuggets  The General Manager LASPARK, Adetoun Ibilola Popoola, the Mentor attended the prestigious Queen’s College in Lagos, proceeded to the University of Lagos where she bagged a B.Sc. in Business Administration in 2004, obtained an M.Sc. in Marketing and Communications Management from the University of Hull, UK in 2009 and started a career in Banking as an Executive Trainee with Guaranty Trust Bank Plc in 2006.   she later joined the Strategy and Corporate Transformation Group of the Bank of Industry in 2018   In 2019, Adetoun was appointed the General Manager of Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency (LASPARK). Since she assumed office, she has intensely propagated the environmental sustainability vision of the State Government through various initiatives.   While interacting with members of the Quien’s Club of Ikeja Junior College,  Ikeja Senior Grammar School,  Ikeja Junior Grammar School,  CMS Girls Senior Grammar School, Bariga,  Jagunmolu Girls Senior Grammar School, Bariga,  Ajao Estate Junior High School for a one-day interactive mentorship session at the serene ambiance of the Dr. Oluyomi Abayomi Finnih Park at Oregun, Ikeja,  Popoola charged the girls to be one step ahead of themselves, ensure they have someone with a listening ear,  pursue a career and noted that setbacks could be an opportunity for something bigger and most of all,  be prayerful.   She also spoke about the various issues the girls could face in their careers and shared relevant tips on how to surmount these challenges.  Popoola lauded the State Government for its commitment to the Girl Child and the DSVA for implementing programs such as this to sustain the initiative for a greater future with more women impacting their world as she revealed that this was something she was passionate about.   Onyinye Gerald presented a plaque to the GM Laspark as she thanked the Lagos DSVA and their Mentor for the opportunity to meet and be inspired and assured that the take-home would be a strong foundation to build upon.  Other mentors so far had been Dr. Adedolapo Fasawe – GM, LASEPA Mrs. Folake Soetan – CEO, Ikeja Electric Professor Funmi Bammeke – Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Lagos Engr. DSVA Holds Queens Club Meet And Greet/Mentorship Session With Folake Soetan  

The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) has organized its 2nd Queen’s Club Meet and Greet Mentorship program, an initiative established by the Agency in June 2023 to further ensure the sustainability and continuity of the Queens Club Initiative which has increased from 300  to 1800 members across schools in the State.  The Executive Secretary DSVA, Lola Vivour-Adeniyi said the Agency sought to partner with trailblazers in their respective sectors and prominent members of the society who are committed to child empowerment and community development to have students who are members of the Queen’s Club be mentored and impacted by them in their own space. Mrs. Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi in her welcome address, encouraged the girls to get ready to have an impactful session with their Mentor and feel free to ask relevant questions they may have.  The Chief Executive Officer, of Ikeja Electric,  Folake Soetan hosted members of the Queen’s Club of Ojodu Junior High School, Ojodu Junior Grammar School, and Babs Fafunwa Millenium Senior Grammar School for a one-day interactive mentorship session which took place at the Conference Room of the Ikeja Electric Office at Alausa Ikeja.  Folake Soetan, Mentor for the day, facilitated the mentorship session and in her charge told the girls to be the best by being committed and driven to achieve their goals. She stressed the need to possess a learning and open Spirit, believe in themselves, imbibes and cultivate the Turn Around Personality She also spoke about the various issues women face in their careers and shared relevant tips on how to surmount these challenges.  She emphasized that the girls should press on towards their goal irrespective of challenges as these form the ladder in their quest for the golden fleece.  Soetan lauded the State Government for its commitment to the Girl Child and the DSVA for implementing programs such as this to sustain the initiative for a greater future with more women impacting their world.  Though it was a meet and greet between the mentor and members of the Queen’s Club, also present were 3 Matrons from the concerned Schools.  One of the Queens, Idahosa Jennifer thanked the Lagos DSVA and their Mentor for the opportunity to meet and be inspired and assured that the take-home would be shared with their peers. Mrs. Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi in her welcome address, encouraged the girls to get ready to have an impactful session with their Mentor and feel free to ask relevant questions they may have.  The General Manager, of Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency, Dr. Dolapo Fasawe invited members of the Queen’s Club of Ojota Senior Secondary School for a one-day interactive mentorship session which took place at the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) building, in Alausa Secretariat.  Dr. Dolapo Fasawe, Mentor for the day, facilitated the mentorship session and in her charge to the girls reiterated the woes of Domestic and Sexual and Gender-Based Violence and the importance of speaking out. She also spoke about the various issues women face in their careers and shared relevant tips on how to surmount these challenges.  She emphasized that the girls should “Know no Fear” in their course through life activities and should never forget the fact that if they “Fail to plan, they indeed plan to fail”. Though it was a meet and greet between the mentor and members of the Queen’s Club, also present included  two Matrons Mrs. Modupe Olawole from the Ojota Senior Secondary School and Mrs. Lateefat Suleimon from Lagos State Education District 2, and two Facilitators Ms. Fisayo Shomorin and Ms. Anu Adekaiyaja from the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Agency amongst other staff and Directors of the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency One of the Queens, Oyinkansola Adenuga thanked the Lagos DSVA and their Mentor for the opportunity to meet and get impacted.
