Lagos DSVA Organizes “Men Wey Sabi” At Dopemu Aluminium Market

Lagos State through its Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency has reiterated continuous efforts to curb the menace of Gender-Based Violence through behavioral mindset programmes,sensitizing and training of relevant stakeholders as it organized “MEN WEY SABI” at Aluminium Market in Dopemu over the weekend. 

The Executive Secretary of Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency, Mrs.Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi,  represented by Mr.Adewusi Damilare,  said the purpose was to address Gender stereotypes which is expected to build peaceful homes where mutual love and respect remains sacrosanct in the State.

She emphasized the collective responsibility to empower women and urged that society, leaders, and residents should champion fostering gender equality.

The program,  she accentuated highlights men’s pivotal roles in ending domestic and sexual violence whilst also promoting partnership in marriages. 

“Our primary objective is to spread the message in a spirited manner, challenging stereotypes regarding men’s involvement in childcare and the essence of partnership in marriage” Vivour-Adeniyi affirmed. 

The competition sponsored by Power Oil Nigeria Limited showcased culinary skills,  a diaper-changing and doll-dressing competition was aimed to showcase the male gender ability to care for a child hygiene in the absence of their spouse.

Mr. Awojobi Tajudeen, the President of the Aluminum  village market appreciated Gov. Sanwo-Olu’s administration for ensuring that the society is conducive for both gender to thrive.

 Mr.Atitobi Surajudeen Adedimeji,

appreciated the agency for bringing the initiative to Dopemu market.
